The Copley Township Cemetery was founded in 1820 and has been active for 191 years. In its present configuration, the cemetery contains 1829 burial lots in nine different sections. There are roughly 125 total burial lots available. Burial lots contain one, two or three graves per lot. Copley Township, on average, performs 25-30 burials per year. It is estimated that in four years there will be no single grave lots left and in 16 years, no double or triple grave lots left.
Although it may appear there is ample time to decide the future of offering cemetery services, the time to decide that future is before us and should not be delayed, thus the reason for conducting this survey.
The Copley Board of Trustees highly values its resident's input on all matters and this survey will assist them in their decision making process for the future of the Copley Township Cemetery. COPLEY TOWNSHIP CEMETERY SURVEY
Appearing below are the results of the Cemetery Survey the Copley Township Board of Trustees recently conducted in order to get resident input on the future of Copley Township Cemetery on Copley Road. Gravesites at this cemetery are slowly diminishing in number and it is necessary to decide its future. Surveys were attached to the quarterly Copley Connection Newsletter which is mailed to all residents. The Township received 152 surveys in return but two were virtually blank so those two were removed from the account total. As the results were being tallied it became clear our residents have a wide variety of opinions and concerns. Please take a few moments and review the results. The results are percentages based on the 150 returns and they appear in the space provided on the survey. Additionally, some sample comments received have been inserted on the comment lines.
