[ARCHIVED] Department of Community & Economic Development Finishes 2018 Strong

The Department of Community & Economic Development finishes 2018 strong with new development, neighborhood revitalization projects and business recognition! The Department, led by Matt Springer, Director, under the direction of the Board of Trustees, refocused the overall goals of the Department to include an emphasis on Economic Development, Neighborhood Revitalization, Strategic Land Planning, Community Engagement, Public and Green Space, and Preservation. Team members managed 233 residential and business development project requests resulting in approximately $48,000,000 in new investment into the Township. Additionally, the Department launched two new programs which include Project Building Blocks and Neighborhood Ambassadors. The Township has supported the revitalization of seven residential sites through the Project Building Blocks program and over 17 residents have volunteered to serve as Ambassadors under the Neighborhood Ambassadors campaign. The Department, in conjunction with the Township Trustees and the Copley Chamber, welcomed several new businesses with Ribbon-Cutting Campaigns and a Commercial Ground-Breaking as part of the newly designed Business Retention and Expansion Plan. In 2019, The Department plans to release an updated Comprehensive Land Use Plan and remains focused on core goals and initiatives.
