SCPH Will Offer Drive-Thru COVID Bivalent Vaccination Clinic on May 2nd, 2023

[Akron, OH] –Summit County Public Health will offer a drive thru clinic for COVID-19 vaccinations with the Moderna Bivalent and Pfizer Bivalent vaccine for individuals 12 years of age and older on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 1867 W. Market St. Akron, Ohio 44313 from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

*Novavax will also be offered in the drive thru for individuals interested in an alternative to mRNA vaccine.

All three vaccines will be offered, in accordance with CDC guidelines. Appointments are not required. Masks are required at all SCPH vaccination clinics. Please bring a photo ID and all previous vaccination records (if available).

SCPH will be offering Moderna Bivalent and Pfizer Bivalent doses for the following individuals in the drive thru clinic on May 2nd:

  1.  Age 12 and over who are unvaccinated
  2. Age 12 and older who have received 1 or more monovalent doses (have NOT had a previous bivalent dose); at least 8 weeks after the last dose
  3. Age 65 and over; after at least four months after last bivalent vaccine Immunocompromised; after at least two months after last bivalent vaccine
  4. Immunocompromised; after at lease four months after last bivalent vaccine

*For the vaccination of children under 12 years of age please call the SCPH clinic at 330-375-2772 to schedule an appointment.

SCPH encourages those residents who are vaccinated and unvaccinated to continue to engage in safe and effective behaviors to reduce the spread of COVID-19:

  1. Stay home if you’re sick, even with mild symptoms
  2. Be mindful in your interactions with others. Limit your chances of exposure by maintaining social distancing of at least six feet from non-household members
  3. Follow good hygiene standards:
  4. Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  5. Use hand sanitizer frequently
  6. Avoid touching your face
  7. Cover coughs and sneezes
