SCPH Will Offer Updated Pfizer COVID-19 (23-24) Vaccination Clinics

[Akron, OH] – Starting Monday September 25, 2023, Summit County Public Health will offer the new PFIZER COVID-19 (23-24) vaccination. The clinics will be by appointment only on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm. Additionally, we will be offering walk in clinics on Tuesdays from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm through the month of October. The clinics will be held at 1867 W. Market St. Akron, Ohio 44313, Building C (enter through door 10). Please bring your ID and your insurance card to your appointment. Now that the distribution of vaccines has transitioned to the commercial market, we will be charging insurance for COVID-19 vaccinations. For those who are uninsured/under insured, the CDC’s Bridge Access program and the Vaccines for Children program provide no-cost COVID-19 vaccines. No-cost COVID-19 vaccines through the Bridge Access program will be available until December 31, 2024.

The Pfizer vaccine will be the only brand offered in our clinics at this time. To schedule an appointment on line go to: https://www.scph.org/immunizations/appointments and a staff person will call you to schedule your appointment or call 330-375-2772.

Pfizer COVID-19 (23-24) vaccine will be administered based upon CDC guidance regarding age, previous COVID-19 vaccination history and immunocompromised state for all individuals age 6 months and older.

SCPH encourages those residents who are both vaccinated and unvaccinated to continue to engage in safe and effective behaviors to reduce the spread of COVID-19:

 Stay home if you’re sick, even with mild symptoms

 Follow good hygiene standards

 Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

 Use hand sanitizer frequently

 Avoid touching your face

 Cover coughs and sneezes
