Per the City of Akron:
"The City of Akron, Water Distribution Division will be conducting a water main flushing program within the Akron, Bath, Coventry, Fairlawn, Hudson, Mogadore, Montrose, and other water retail service areas to help maintain the water quality and to increase and evaluate the amount of water available for firefighting purposes. The Water Department will be flowing hydrants from 7:30AM TO 4:00PM on MONDAY through FRIDAY DAYS. On approximately Monday, March,10, 2025 the fire hydrant flushing crews will begin flushing hydrants in the North Akron Area. There may be some Flushing on Saturdays.
The North Akron Area is bounded approximately by:
City limits to the North
North St to the South
City limits to the East
Cuyahoga St to the West
As discoloration to water is likely to appear, we would appreciate any and all radio and television announcements and newspaper articles so as to alert the water users and the traveling public. In particular, we urge the water users to check their cold water for discoloration prior to drawing water for cooking and for use in automatic washers and dishwashers. If discoloration is found, the water user is advised to discontinue use until water clears. Water customers can also log on to www.akronohio.gov/departments/service/water_supply_bureau/index.php to get the latest hydrant flushing updates.
